Our ASAE Annual blog series continues, and this week, we’re talking about MUST-ATTEND sessions in Salt Lake City. Here are the Deep Dives and Learning Labs we’re most looking forward to:
Who: In a nutshell, one AWESOME panel! But specifically: Lindsay Currie, Director of Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society; Sheri Singer, President, Singer Communications; Juan Amador, Director, Association of American Medical Colleges; Tom Quash, VP of Marketing and Communications, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses; Al Rickard, President, Association Vision; Addy Kujawa, Executive Director, American Association of Orthopaedic Executives; Kiki L’Italien, CEO, Amplified Growth
When: Sunday, August 14, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
What: I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited for this one. Several association executives will be discussing what the popular musical, “The Book of Mormon,” can teach us about leadership, membership recruitment, branding and reputation management, the evolving role of social media and more. Come ready to laugh and, of course, learn!
Who: Kiki L’Italien, CEO and Founder, Amplified Growth; Scott Oser, President, Scott Oser Associates; Cynthia D’Amour, Leadership Strategist, People Power Unlimited
When: Sunday, August 14, 4 - 5 p.m.
What: I’ll likely be front and center for this one. And for those of you who feel like there are just never enough hours in the day, I recommend you join me. In this session, three association executives will be discussing productivity strategies - some app-related, others more organic - to help you go from OMG to om.
Who: Sue Pine, Executive Director, NAPO; Kristine Metter, Vice President of Member Services, America’s Essential Hospitals
When: Monday, August 15, 9 - 10 a.m.
What: Incorporating trends into your association’s strategic planning process can definitely be intimidating, but it’s a crucial step in order to remain relevant. That said, the speed of change is FAST, so if you need help keeping up, check out this session with Sue Pine and Kristine Metter.
Who: Lowell Aplebaum, CAE
When: Monday, August 15, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
What: It’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day shuffle of things, but remembering the essentials is important. That’s why in this session, Lowell Aplebaum will be going back to the basics. He’ll be discussing new membership models, financial management, member benefits and more. Don’t miss it!
Who: Mark Sedgley, President and CEO, MemberClicks
When: Monday, August 15, 4 - 5 p.m.
What: With today’s workforce so well-educated, competition for top talent is ever-increasing. That said, in order to attract highly talented people, associations MUST offer competitive benefits. Not sure where to even begin with that? Well, check out this session with our very own President and CEO, Mark Sedgley, where he’ll be exploring shifting trends in the fight for talent, looking at topics such as unlimited leave, work-life balance, wellness programs, results-only performance reviews, professional development stipends, mentorship and more!
