Friday Top Five: ASAE 2012-bound!

Happy Friday, everyone! The MemberClicks crew is on its way to Dallas for the American Society of Association Executives' Annual Meeting and Expo, and we're excited to meet as many small staff association professionals as we can! 1. Jeff Cobb shares 10 tips to get the most out of a conference. One of our fave tips? Review the education sessions ahead of time. In order to really optimize your time at a conference, plan your education schedule ahead of time and know which sessions are relevant for you. Also? Have backups in case your first choices are too crowded!

2. Heading to Dallas for ASAE? Don't miss Jeff Hurt's 15 things to know about Dallas! (Is everything really bigger in Texas? Is the official pastime really shopping?) We can't wait to see everyone at Cowboy Stadium!

3. In a guest post at ASAE's Acronym blog, Holly Duckworth of Leadership Solutions International shares more pre-meeting prep tips for association professionals. One surprising tip: pre-schedule some tweets and Facebook posts thanking speakers for their time.

4. Becky Rasmussen writes about her takeaways from Content Marketing World, and applies them to content marketing for associations. Associations face challenges when it comes to content marketing, and Becky thoughtfully details how those hurdles can create unique opportunities. We think this is especially relevant for small staff associations, who often have fewer resources and less time to devote to content marketing.

5. If you don't want vigilante customers, you must be more vigilant about customer service, writes Jeffrey Cufaude. Can your small staff association identify issues and policies that are holding back a high-quality customer service experience - and then take steps to correct them?
