Friday Top Five: Be fierce and innovate

Posted by MemberClicks Blog

Happy Friday, everyone! We hope everyone's week has been productive, and that the Wednesday holiday didn't throw you off too much.

Before we hit the ground running for the weekend, be sure to check out these five awesome association blog posts from the community - that is, if you haven't already!

1. Following a webinar, Beth Kanter published a guest post sharing some social media measurement standards. There are so many different available metrics, and knowing what's meaningful and what's not can be extremely tricky.

2. Is it becoming more mainstream to focus on innovation? Jamie Notter thinks so, but he asks why associations and organizations aren't innovating management. It's all well and good to focus on innovating products, but does management really need the overhaul?

3. Does broadcasting your conference or meeting online leave you afraid that no one will pay for your actual services? Joe Rominiecki compares this to the bike-sharing program in D.C., which left bike shop owners afraid no one would purchase bikes. However, it turned out that the exact opposite was true...

4. David M. Patt reinforces how important it is to pronounce people's names correctly - especially at banquets and meetings where they are being honored. Practice ahead of time and get it right, he writes.

5. KiKi L'Italien wrote this week about "fierce membership" and the characteristics that accompany it. Do you have fierce members in your small staff association? How do you cultivate fierce membership and ensure it stays that way?

Topics: association management, association leadership, small staff association, social media for associations, event planning, membership management
