 Five Ways Your Small Staff Association Thinks of Association Software Differently

1)   You have a widespread staff

And by “widespread” we often mean “spread thin” in the best sense.  Your Association Software needs to be accessible and manageable by a staff that could be spread out in several offices, or maybe even several cities. For this reason, your AMS really needs to be a one-stop shop for communication and management. Who knows if you or someone else will pull your invoices else next month?

 

2)   You need payments that fit in your budget

Budgetary concerns are a big part of any association management, but especially for the small staff association. You need a payment that fits within your budget and a contract that works for you. Remember, some association management systems have contract-free options.

 

3)   You need it to “just work” because you don’t have time to think about it

Updates need to be seamless. Problems have to be addressed quickly. No software is going to be flawless, but you need fixes as soon as you can get them. Reports needs to be accessible, and dealing with your AMS almost needs to be on the back burner after it’s implemented because it just does its job.

 

4)   You need help, training, and implementation that fits your (packed) schedule

The training and implementation process can take awhile and, depending on the problem, help can too. You need workable sessions, or even training videos that you can view at your own leisure. You certainly don’t need long, cumbersome webinars that don’t apply to half of your needs.

 

5)   You need a one-stop shop to get in touch with your members

This is where your Association Management System’s communication tools come in handy. You need an easy way to reach your members, either through effective E-mailing or a well-used social community.
