Yesterday Associations Now reported that the FCC is going to start accepting applications for nonprofit FM radio stations (eventually.)
The article pointed out that this could be a great thing for many associations, such as OneAmerica that help out many illiterate people. Not to mention that radios are much more affordable than TVs and computers, other popular ways of spreading information, and radios are still the go-to resource in times of crisis and emergency.
However, the article does point out that the FCC isn’t sure, or hasn’t mentioned, how the government shutdown will affect this process.
