Hit the Ground Running in 2015

Are you raring to go for 2015? Got those personal goals figured out for your resolutions? How about your association? Surely you’ve collaborated with members and other leaders to create some amazing goals for 2015.

Let’s harness that New Year’s energy and set yourself up for a long term surge of goal accomplishment that lasts longer than a few weeks in January!

  1. Get Organized

First things first: clean your mind and your workspace. Get a clear, stable surface, both mentally and physically, on which to get to work. Clear off the old items and if there are still unresolved issues decide what to do with them. They may be abandoned or tabled for the mean time, or they could go on your 2015 goal list. Speaking of…

  1. Get your to-do list

Get out that list of priorities that you discussed with your board and members and jot down the standing items and leftover stuff from 2014. Try your best to prioritize by due date and urgency! Then it’s time to… 

  1. Get ready

What do you need to accomplish these goals? Think about raw materials and things you can obtain fairly easily. If it’s software or something you can obtain quickly, go ahead and get it. Mark your calendar and rally the troops so you can…

  1. Get going!

Pull the trigger! Start crossing those things off the to-do list! If you’ve delegated some of those tasks, follow up and make sure they’re in the works or at least on the radar. As time progresses, be sure to check in and make sure things are going according to plan and that deadlines will be met.

If you charge into your 2015 goals with enthusiasm and set yourself up for success, you will succeed and this New Year will be your best one yet!
