Stress-Free Work Life: Dream or Reality?

As you may know, every Tuesday at 2 p.m. EST, there’s an association chat (#assnchat) that takes place on Blab. It’s hosted by Kiki L’Italien, Social Media Strategist, and often, one or two other guests.

Well, last week, Kiki and special guest, Cynthia D’Amour, hosted a chat titled, “Relaxed and Recharged Daily - Fantasy or Possibility?” - and I must say, I think it was my favorite chat to date! I loved it so much, in fact, that I wanted to share it all with you. (Full recording of the chat here.)

The chat started off with this VERY interesting statistic: On average, adults laugh about 15 times per day. Children, on the other hand, laugh about 400 times per day.

 

Can you believe that?! Children laugh SO much. So what happens to us as adults that makes us laugh infinitely less?

If you guessed work (and the general stress of life), you’re right.

But laughing is SO healthy. It triggers the release of endorphins, giving you an overall sense of well-being.

So as adults, how can we laugh more? Well, many association professionals recommend watching a funny video clip during the work day. Here are a few that might put a smile on your face:
