4 Ways to Win Your Members’ Hearts This Valentine’s Day

Love is in the air this week, and what better way to celebrate than by honoring your loving and loyal members? Sure, flowers and chocolates are great, but you don’t have to break the bank to show your members you care. Take a look at these four simple ways to win your members’ hearts this Valentine’s Day.

Send them "love" notes of thanks and appreciation

Everybody loves to be recognized – even those who brush off praise or downplay achievements. So if a member has been particularly involved lately or has achieved an important goal, send them a letter of appreciation. (Email is fine, although handwritten is always better.) This will only take five minutes of your day, but will make a lasting impression on your members. 

Recognize them publicly

We all love getting flowers, but think about how much better it is when we receive them publicly. We like for others to see how adored we are, and the same concept applies here. So the next time you’re in a group setting, take a moment to recognize the superstars of your association. We assure you they’ll feel the love. 

Surprise them with a call

We get it. You have a lot of members and very little time. But that’s exactly why making a personalized phone call can have such a large impact on people. Try dialing up one of your members for a quick check-in or an invitation to your next event. Even the shortest conversations can make a big difference.   

Satisfy their sweet tooth

Ok, so this one does cost a little money, but it doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. Try surprising your members with doughnuts or cookies at your next meeting. This is an easy way to put a smile on everyone’s face and you know as well as we do that happy members lead to loyal members!
