Engaging First-Time Conference Attendees: 4 Tactics to Try

Of course you want to provide an exceptional experience for ALL of your conference attendees, but ensuring that happens for your first-time attendees is particularly important. Their decision to attend future events (and possibly even renew their membership) depends heavily on that first experience, so going the extra mile for those folks, in particular, is certainly worth it.

Refreshing Your Website for the New Year

Posted by Kinsey Mahan

As we settle in to 2015, January is a great time to take a good look at your website and consider giving it a facelift. While the project might seem overwhelming at first, there are some simple things you can do to renew the website’s look and feel, starting with the Home Page.

First, take a look at slideshow images. Giving your site a fresh look for the new year is as easy as uploading new slideshow images to act as a focal point for the site. Whether you use stock photos or your own shots, it’s important to use high quality images for your site’s slideshow, and to size those images appropriately. Check out this video on updating your slideshow in MemberClicks, which includes instructions for cropping and sizing slideshow images using a free online image editor (the slideshow segment starts at 3:40).

Along those lines, if your home page showcases announcements, upcoming events, or recent news, this is a great time to remove old information and add new information for 2015!

Next, take a look at your website footer to make sure your contact information and copyright date are up to date. In MemberClicks, your site footer is built as a widget, and can be edited under Website > Widget Manager when logged in as an Administrator. If you don’t see that option, or need help changing your footer information, feel free to contact our Help Team for assistance.

Sponsor images are another item to consider in the new year, as old sponsor agreements may be ending, or sponsor images may need updating to reflect 2015 information. If you don’t currently feature sponsor ads on your MemberClicks site, you might consider monetizing sponsor ads this year through our Sponsor Ad tool. Check out this video for a walk through of how the feature works, and contact our Help Team via email if you want to learn more.

Last but not least, the new year is the perfect time to consider redesigning your MemberClicks website!
