We’re officially in Q2 of 2016. Hard to believe, right?
Well take a moment to reflect on Q1. How did that go? Did you achieve any of your short-term goals? Did you have any short-term goals?
Whether you’ve made changes to your organization or not, there’s one change that you can - and should - make right now:
Practice positive thinking.
Positive thinking can change everything: your success, your well-being, etc. But before you can make that change, you need to have the right mindset. Here are a few tips to get you on the right path:
1. Start with your strengths
To get that positive energy rolling, start by making a list of all your strengths. Brag on yourself a little! What do you bring to your association? Why are you valuable? What makes you unique? These thoughts can really change your self-perception.
2. Analyze the benefits of your association
Next, move on to the benefits of your association. You probably have a semi-rehearsed speech outlining why people should join your organization. But take it a step further. Are there any people in particular that your association has really helped? Any social or political policies that have been changed? Think about the big picture. Not only will this inspire others, but it will ultimately inspire you.
Which brings us to our next point...
3. Be inspired
We really can’t emphasize this point enough. Inspiration affects your actions. When you’re inspired, you work harder. When you’re inspired, you’re at ease.
